GIVING A HOTEL RESTAURANT A REINVENTED PLACE IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD WITH A NEW (HI)STORY.
A visual identity which creates a modern classic home with an easy-going Dutch attitude for the entire neighbourhood in the actual house of craftsman Volkert Jansz, the original 17th-century owner of the location. Jansz mixes modern with classic references. It’s a new world of simple elegance created to the image of craftsman Volkert Jansz himself. A man who embraced the finer things in life, but who also believed that style and luxury are most enjoyed when shared. The art of silhouette cuttings originates in the 1700s, the same era when Jansz.’s historic canal house location was built. The new identity reinterprets the classic silhouette which is utilized on signs, doors, plates, business cards and more. The theme was continued in the interiors with vintage silhouette on display. Other historical design elements, like the French marbling technique and marble stone continue the old meets new theme.
Name and brand identity for the Pulitzer Hotel’s new restaurant, Jansz., in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
